Day 1 East 500

Day One of Four • England • Start: M11 (J8) • Finish: Southwold • Distance: 155 miles • Riding time: 4.5 – 5 hours • When I created this tour, I just called it "East Coast Tour" - but these days it isn't a tour if it doesn't have a number in it. So I'm rebranding it as the East 500... though if you do all four days, it's the East 700. But the third day can be dropped to keep time, cost and mileage down. The short first day makes it easy to reach the start point (Birchanger Green Services on the M11) with lunch on the Essex coast, then an afternoon on the high-quality twisties on the way to one of Suffolk’s most popular coastal resorts for an overnight stop.
