Scafell Circuit

Cumbria • Start/finish: Penrith • Distance: 195 miles • Riding time: 5 - 5.5 hours • This updating of the Ambleside loop from Bikers' Britain: The Tours now sets off from Penrith, taking a cracking B-road out to Siloth and Maryport on the Cumbrian coast, before looping inland to Honister Pass and then to Wasdale Head at the foot of Scafell Pike. It loops back to Ambleside like the original route but – rather than sitting in the traffic between there and Windermere – takes The Struggle to reach Kirkstone Pass. A cracking day of big views and epic roads.
